God is Randomness

Most of us believe that world is owned and controlled by a supreme being called God who is all powerful and anything and everything happens in the world only by His will. This much is common thought among all religions and then there are several funny stories built around it known as religions.

I believe Universe is a huge pile of randomness which moves around in a random way and creates events that can result in any kind of output. These random events have resulted in creation of earth and the living beings as also explained by Darwin, now where does God fit in this scheme?

When we look at the random course of events, like some natural calamity happens (or would happen) and an odd number of people died, and another odd number of people survived, now you dont know whether one of your relative in that place survived it or not. The chances that he survived would be totally random, so now this is the randomness for which you would want a way not to be totally out of control as you can not just sit and wait and watch, you want to have the capability to take at least some action to help in the result of your relative surviving. Else it would be much bigger torture to wait for the news with a blank mind.

So you would create an imaginary controller of this randomness called God and assume that if you ask Him He will listen and the randomness will turn in the way you want and not the other. The randomness may still go the same way as it was going before but this conditioning of mind gives you the strength to move ahead and spend the difficult time with hope until you hear the news.

Now whenever this randomness works in your favour you call it God and whenever it works against you you call it work of devil, whereas in fact they both are one and the same thing.

Think about it, if God is all strong powerful, and nothing can exist or move without His will. Would He not be the creator of Devil as well? Would all actions of Devil not also be by will of God?

My guess is that people want to create a punchbag called Devil as it is a good time pass to take out all their anger upon. But in fact work of Devil is also the work of God.

Now why do people start fighting when someone questions the existence of their controller of randomness? They believe now that they have made friends with this randomness controller, it would work in their favour in the coming harsh times. And if they see someone removing the basis of their hope and confidence, they think it will not be there to help them in future time of adversity. So they need to keep this controller alive at any cost and make sure of its existance at the difficult time to help them spend it without getting bored and to cope up with the survivers guilt.

Randomness of what? Randomness is not that easy to define in a succinct way.

Whaaaa! In either case I call it daiva or destiny. And no, I know of people who don't move on and deny the existence of any God if their wishes are not heard and I also know of atheists whose wishes come true.

You can't just put down one rule like that.

You need to define randomness (the sample space, etc) first.

You may want to read Kathopanishat. You will get your version of God (Brahman) in there (albeit more precisely).

God is a consequence of human reasoning and human nature. And its possible that God(the real thing) is dead!

Your sentence is contradictory. You say that God is a consequence of human reasoning. In the second breathe you also say it is possible that God is dead.

If God is a consequence of only reasoning, God wasn't there and cannot be dead. If the God corresponding to reasoning was there --- then God is absolute and will never die.

You should think more before believing and reproducing communist-refuse.

A lot of illogical garbage about God started coming from Karl Marx. (Note, there have been atheists who try to argue the absence of any God in a logical way --- Marx was illogical in his methods).

I called his arguments as communist-refuse since they resembled the illogical reasoning of communists.

Best,

(PS: Read a bit of Romila Thapar and Arjun Dev --- modern communist historians and you will get a better sense of what I am saying).
