The Power of being Angry

Sometimes there is a thought that the angrier a person is, the more impressive/stronger he is in his actions. If a God is an angry one, He would be more feared and respected. If a religion has angry administrators it would have more believers and faithful followers. If in a movie the lead actor is angry, he would represent the best in the soceity.

The truth however is just the opposite. A person is angry only when he is incapable of getting something done. When he finds that his actions are not giving results, he gets frustrated and gets into anger. Therefore anger is more of a sign of weakness than strength. Given a choice nobody would want to stay in angry mood for any amount of time unless someone is trying to fake it.

Why would someone try to fake anger? It is generally considered that if a person is angry he must be right and innocent and speaking the truth. This is frequently taken as an excuse to create mobs and committ crimes which that would generally not be allowed. Most of the times when there is a mob there is looting and people enjoy breaking public property.

Who gets affected by anger, in short term yes the people around but in long term it is the angry person whose psyche is affected the most. He gets scars on his brain that are very difficult to heal.

A good decision is always taken with a stable and calm mind and is rarely regretted. A decision taken in hot blood is usually a wrong decision and most of the times irreversible. Therefore the power of being angry is just negative.

God is Randomness

Most of us believe that world is owned and controlled by a supreme being called God who is all powerful and anything and everything happens in the world only by His will. This much is common thought among all religions and then there are several funny stories built around it known as religions.

I believe Universe is a huge pile of randomness which moves around in a random way and creates events that can result in any kind of output. These random events have resulted in creation of earth and the living beings as also explained by Darwin, now where does God fit in this scheme?

When we look at the random course of events, like some natural calamity happens (or would happen) and an odd number of people died, and another odd number of people survived, now you dont know whether one of your relative in that place survived it or not. The chances that he survived would be totally random, so now this is the randomness for which you would want a way not to be totally out of control as you can not just sit and wait and watch, you want to have the capability to take at least some action to help in the result of your relative surviving. Else it would be much bigger torture to wait for the news with a blank mind.

So you would create an imaginary controller of this randomness called God and assume that if you ask Him He will listen and the randomness will turn in the way you want and not the other. The randomness may still go the same way as it was going before but this conditioning of mind gives you the strength to move ahead and spend the difficult time with hope until you hear the news.

Now whenever this randomness works in your favour you call it God and whenever it works against you you call it work of devil, whereas in fact they both are one and the same thing.

Think about it, if God is all strong powerful, and nothing can exist or move without His will. Would He not be the creator of Devil as well? Would all actions of Devil not also be by will of God?

My guess is that people want to create a punchbag called Devil as it is a good time pass to take out all their anger upon. But in fact work of Devil is also the work of God.

Now why do people start fighting when someone questions the existence of their controller of randomness? They believe now that they have made friends with this randomness controller, it would work in their favour in the coming harsh times. And if they see someone removing the basis of their hope and confidence, they think it will not be there to help them in future time of adversity. So they need to keep this controller alive at any cost and make sure of its existance at the difficult time to help them spend it without getting bored and to cope up with the survivers guilt.

Patriotism is Fake.

People say they are proud of their country and that they love their country a lot and their country is the best.

I guess any kind of pride is fake and it shows ones indifference towards people outside the domain. Pride in general is only for things that people think they dont deserve and when they get it by some chance they gloat at other people who dont have that. Its like saying my daddy is the richest, my daddy gave me a bike, what does your daddy have. Now, what is your contribution in making your daddy richest. It is just a coincidence that you were born in that house where there was more money and if you gloat on others for being somewhat unfortunate then you are bad.

People also sing songs about that their country is the best, I will give an example:

Suno Gaur se duniya walo,
buri najar na ham pe dalo,
chahe jitna jor lagalo,
sabse age honge hindustani..

Now what are we teaching kids?

chahe jitna jor laga lo..

- some things can be impossible
- other persons effort may not have meaning,
(thats why we fail to understand why we often lose in games)

sabse age honge hindustani..

- what kind of illusions we want kids to live into? that we win out of virtue of being indian and beautiful and blessed and whatnot and not because of our efforts?
- where exactly do we win all the time? cricket? hockey? football? The answer is that a few times we do but not because we are indian (the beautiful, telented, blessed or whatever) but only because we put efforts and plan.

So in modern society when everyone is so connected to each other a country has no meaning (other than government and its money and that one should not throw garbage on the road). Countries only make walls between people and are reason of so many wars and killings. One reason I could never join Army is that I would have to go to unknown peoples homes and destroy their lives. Also there would be family people on the other side just like me fighting with me that I do not know what lives I may change forever.

Another view is that if everyone thinks so then "we" will become very weak to defend ourself, but I am not only asking "our people" to think that way but everyone in the world cause I dont believe in the concept of "our" people. It makes us a part of bigger group called world..

I wrote a poem about the same long time back..

Soldiers

walking besides the sleeping strangers,
like a group of blind and ignorant creatures,
we are busy in works of cruel carnivores,
wasting time in our useless goals,

far away from our enemy's attack,
the safe hiding places in the old barrack,
we are waiting for turns to die on the ground,
with another jewel in our falling crown,

God, give us the power to feel the delight,
of our innocent enemies, when they see our plight,
help us understand their complex brain,
and make us all good old friends,

we are scared of things we have unseen,
of things we dont know what they mean,
there must be ways to make us sane,
and to keep us moving in the right lane...
